What age group is the Junior Holiday Program for?
The UEC Junior Holiday Program is designed for students aged 12–17. Students are grouped by age and English level to ensure an appropriate learning environment.
Is the program fully supervised?
Yes. UEC's Junior Holiday Program includes full-time supervision from experienced welfare staff during all school and activity hours. Students are never left unsupervised during program activities.
Where do junior students live?
Junior students stay in carefully vetted homestay families arranged by UEC. All homestay families are background-checked and regularly reviewed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our junior students.
What activities are included?
The program includes daily English classes in the morning and Sydney excursions and activities in the afternoon. Activities include visits to Bondi Beach, the Opera House, Taronga Zoo, Blue Mountains day trips, Harbour cruises, and sports sessions.
What English level do junior students need?
No prior English level is required. Students are assessed on arrival and placed in a group at their current level. Beginners are welcome.
Can I enrol my child as an unaccompanied minor?
Yes. UEC has extensive experience in receiving unaccompanied minors. We can arrange airport transfers, homestay accommodation and full welfare support for the duration of the program.
When do the Junior Holiday Programs run in 2026?
2026 intake dates: 5 January – 21 February 2026, and 29 June – 29 August 2026. Programs run during school holiday periods. Contact UEC for confirmed availability and to reserve a place.
